The Mob were double crossed by the Kennedys, but assassination wasn’t their way. The Amercian Mafia were delegated to take out Castro, because the CIA would have had to deal with plausible deniability. So, after they were double crossed by RFK’s prosecutions, they simply dropped the Castro assassination, and as it happens, a few combat aircraft controlled by the Cuban revolutionaries were active and able to suppress the invasion. The Mob got their revenge against the Kennedys by ensuring the Bay of Pigs failed.
